DALLAS -- Tyler Seguin didnt realize he had become a part of Dallas Stars history until he looked up at the video board. Jim Otto Raiders Jersey . Thats when he learned he had tied a team record with his third hat trick of the season, joining Mike Modano and Bill Guerin. Seguin also had two assists Thursday night as the Stars beat the Vancouver Canucks 6-1. "Until I saw it on the board, I wasnt aware," he said. He was especially pleased to be in the company of Modano, whose No. 9 will be retired at the Stars game Saturday. "Its awesome," Seguin said. "I talk a lot with him when he comes to game. He tells me a couple of things about my game." Seguin, the team leader with 29 goals, has had two of the NHLs six five-point games this season. Jamie Benn, Alex Goligoski and Ryan Garbutt also scored for Dallas, which built a 5-0 lead. Kari Lehtonen made 32 saves, and Benn and Rich Peverley each had two assists. Seguin scored twice in the first period, and completed his hat trick at 12:53 of the third by squeezing the puck through a narrow opening past Canucks backup goalie Jacob Markstrom. Vancouvers Zac Dalpe scored at 18:15 of the second period. Dallas solidified its hold on the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, improving to 9-3-2 in their last 14 goals. The fading Canucks, 11th in the West, dropped to 1-10-1 in their last 12 and fell four points behind Dallas. Vancouver coach John Tortorella said he didnt believe his team quit. "I still think there is the people in (the locker room) that can help us pull through this and were going to keep on going about it each day." Canucks goalie Eddie Lack stopped only 12 of 17 shots before Markstrom replaced him. Markstrom, acquired earlier this week in the trade that sent Roberto Luongo to Florida, had four saves. "It feels like were ready when the game starts, and then we kind of just collapsed today," Lack said. "For me, I kind of just have to look at myself tonight ... and have to be better." Benn put in a rebound 2:57 into the game after Lack had stopped Seguins backhand. Seguin scored the second goal on a power play. He took a pass from Alex Chiasson behind the Canucks defence and fired into the upper right corner from in front of the net. "That was a big message before tonights game, was our starts," Seguin said. The Stars had been outscored 6-0 in the first period of their previous three games. Even at 2-0, the lead appeared safe against a team that has scored only nine goals in its last eight games. Seguin made it 3-0 at 11:59, taking a pass off the boards from Peverley and turning and one-timing a shot between Lack and the right goal post. "The one he rips from the wall in the first period found a way to go in," Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said. "You could just say its never a bad play to get it on net. "His late one, for the hat trick, you wonder how it goes in, but it went in. (Vernon Fiddler) said on the bench, Those never go in for me. It is funny how sometimes goal scorers find ways to put them in the holes." The shots on goal, eight for each team, did not reflect Dallas domination of the first period. The Stars began the second on a 5-minute power play. Vancouvers Zack Kassian received a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct for a hit on Brenden Dillon in front of the Canucks bench with 1:30 left in the first period. With that man advantage, Dallas took a 4-0 lead at 2:20 of the second. Ray Whitney passed from behind the goal line to defenceman Goligoski low in the right faceoff circle. He shot into the near side of the net. Seguin assisted on the goal. At 12:08, Goligoski passed across to Garbutt on the left side, and his goal increased the lead to 5-0. Goligoski said, "We came in more focused. We knew these guys have had a tough time scoring goals, so we needed to bury a few early." Dalpe scored a power-play goal late in the period to get the Canucks on the board with a shot that hit Lehtonen as he tried to recover his position. The teams again were tied in shots, with nine each. Vancouver outshot Dallas 16-5 in the third period. NOTES: Dillon left the ice after Kassians hit, but returned for the second period. ... Goligoski has a goal in each of the last three games after scoring only twice in his first 59 games this season. "Its a case of being in the right place at the right time," he said. Dallas defencemen have totalled six goals in those three games. ... Benn has two goals and seven assists in his last six games. ... Lack, starting for the Canucks for the fifth consecutive game, had allowed 1.25 goals per game for the first four. Marcus Allen Womens Jersey . -- Green Bay wide receiver Greg Jennings will be on the sideline as the Packers make their push for a perfect regular season. Ronnie Lott Jersey . Vargas (8-3) allowed four singles and two walks while striking out five, allowing only two runners from a diluted Twins lineup to reach second base. Mike Moustakas and Jarrod Dyson hit RBI singles in the second inning against Kevin Correia (4-10), and that was all Vargas needed. http://www.proraidersauthentic.com/authentic-jim-otto-raiders-jersey/ . A top pitching prospect, one who the ball club is pinning some of its future hopes, takes the spot of a veteran who once was viewed as a future ace but who, to this point, hasnt realized his potential and may never.ST. PAUL, Minn. - Nino Niederreiter snagged the puck off the boards and rushed toward the net, deftly setting up a wrist shot with a slick deke to each side. The puck whizzed past Nashville goalie Carter Huttons stick to give Minnesota an overtime victory but, before it got there, it had to elude Niederreiters good friend. Niederreiters goal with 2:44 left in the extra period lifted the Wild past the Predators 3-2 on Thursday night, and the tipped shot went between the legs of Roman Josi, who will play with Niederreiter next week for Switzerland in the Olympics. Theyll be roommates, actually. "I might mention it to him right now, but Im not sure if hell be happy about it," Niederreiter said. "At the same time, like I said, it was a big win for us and we needed those points. It felt like a playoff game out there because it was a pretty tough one." Jonas Brodin and Zach Parise scored early to offset two goals for the Predators by Craig Smith, who raised his team-leading total to 18. Hutton made 33 saves and helped thwart a Wild power play in the waning minutes of regulation, but that wasnt quite enough. All three goals Hutton gave up were to his stick side. "It was like a knuckle puck," Hutton said of Niederreiters winner. Josi was impressed by his buddy but not happy with him. "We didnt play that well in the first. We played a little slow, and they got on us quick. After that we played a good game. We obviously wanted two points, but its good to get a point on the road," Josi said. Smith tied the game midway through the second period when he redirected defenceman Victor Bartleys shot past Darcy Kuemper, who made his 12th straight start in goal for the Wild. The Predators hit the post twice in that middle frame and with another try in the third period. "A little bit of puck luck goes a long way," Kuemper said, adding: "I was just trying to do my part to battle and help the guys out because they were sure helping me out." Kuemper made 16 saves to improve to 7-3-2 since Jan. 1, and the Wild raisedd their home record to 21-7-2 this season. Otis Sistrunk Womens Jersey. Coach Mike Yeo stressed to his players this week the danger of looking ahead to the break and not letting up against a team behind them in the standings, and their performance suggested the message was received. "I was real impressed with our guys, the way that they approached this game," Yeo said. "I asked them for a playoff-type mentality coming into the game, and thats a lot to ask for in February when youre about to go on a long break, but they brought it." Parise wasnt worried about a letup. "I think were all mature enough that we understood we have a game still before, and I dont think that was ever a concern about guys thinking about their flights tomorrow or their plans for the break," he said. The Predators had a jarring start to their day, when television announcer Pete Weber was taken for emergency heart surgery and general manager David Poile was hit by an errant puck that flew off the ice during the morning skate and hit him in the face where he was standing behind the bench. Poile was staying in a hospital overnight for observation and evaluation, the team said, and was unable to be present for the pregame ceremony the Wild held for all the Olympians in attendance for each team. Poile is the general manager for Team USA. "There was some bad stuff that happened today, but weve got to come out and find a way to get two points," Hutton said. "Good for them. We werent able to do it." The Predators are in last place in the Central Division but still within striking distance of the playoffs. "It was a good road point considering all the stuff that went on today," coach Barry Trotz said, adding: "We grind them out." NOTES: Wild D Marco Scandella sat out due to a sprained knee sustained the previous game. LW Stephane Veilleux cleared waivers and was sent to AHL affiliate Iowa. ... Smith has 20 points and 12 goals in his last 23 games. ... Niederreiter has 12 points and a plus-six rating in his last 19 games.
